Beth Ouellette, PgMP, PMP, MBA

 

 

Beth is President of The Ouellette Group; an

organization dedicated to excellence in business and

IT management.  They provide dynamic and custom

education, consulting and mentoring for business

strategy, project and program management, and

organizational transformation. 

 

As the chief consultant, Beth is a seasoned change

agent with first-hand experience in transforming

global business and IT projects, programs and

portfolios.   Her unique blend of executive

management and technology skills serves her clients

well as she travels the globe teaching, speaking, mentoring and presenting best practices in effective, efficient, and practical management.  Beth has become a sought-after mentor, facilitating and guiding clients’ teams toward more successful program, portfolio and project management. 

 

With over 20 years of IT and business experience, focusing the past 10 years on establishing and leading corporate-wide/global program management offices (PMO), her practical approach enables clients to promote, apply, and improve critical PM skills to everyday projects as well as huge organizational changing initiatives.  Before founding The Ouellette Group, Beth established and ran the Straight-Through-Processing Corporate Program Office at Prudential, toward the objective of shortening the 3-day trade life cycle.  Prior to that she established and ran the IT PMO at Prudential. 

 

In the past year, she was a key note presenter and moderator at the Nordic Portfolio Management Forum in Stockholm, and was Conference Chair for the Project Zone Conference in Vienna, Austria March 2009.  Other media engagement include lectures, presentations and articles on Project Management, Program Management, Portfolio Management, communications, productivity and quality improvement at the CIO Forum, Project Leadership Conference, Enterprise Application Strategy Conference, IT World Congress, and Women in Technology.  She has been published in the US and Canada, as well as Brazil and India.

 

On October 10, 2009, Beth received the PMI Distinguished Contributor Award. In December 2008, she completed the role of Content Integration Analyst for the simultaneous production of PMBOK, Program, Portfolio and OPM3 Standards.  She has served in leadership roles on various PMI Standards’ Teams since 2005, including the first edition of the Portfolio and Program Management Standard.

 

She is in the midst of a 3-year term on the PMI New York City Board, where she is currently the President of the Chapter.  She continues to be an active member in PMI Global as well as NYC and NJ Chapters; she holds both the PMP and PgMP designations.  She also earned an MBA from NYU’s Stern School, a BA in Education from Eastern Michigan University, and an AA in Computer Programming from Geenville Technical College.
